Boy, 13, Dies in Sleep Three Days After 2nd Dose of Pfizer Covid Vaccine

The CDC has launched an investigation after a healthy 13-year-old boy in Michigan died from a heart condition while asleep just days after receiving his second dose of Pfizerâs Covid vaccine.
News of Saginaw County resident Jacob Clynickâs death was spread on social media late last month, with a woman posting a picture of her nephewâs vaccine card to Twitter claiming he died after his second Covid shot.
âThe initial autopsy results (done Friday) were that his heart was enlarged and there was some fluid surrounding it. He had no known health problems. Was on no medications,â Tami Burages wrote. (Despite the death, Burages said she would still vaccinate her 14-year-old daughter.)
The vaccine card shows Clynick received his second Pfizer dose at a Walgreens clinic on June 13.
According to family members, the boy who was otherwise healthy and had no previous known underlying health conditions complained of fatigue and fever days prior to his death.
âOn the night of June 15, he had a bit of a stomach ache, too, but it wasnât severe enough to cause serious concern,â reportsDetroit Free Press.
âJacob went to sleep that night, and never woke up.â
The county health department announced it would launch a joint investigation with the CDC into Clynickâs death, while continuing to recommend vaccination:
âThe investigation as to whether there is a correlation between his death and vaccination is now at the federal level with CDCâŚMeanwhile, the health department continues to encourage families to speak with their physicians to weigh their own risks and benefits of vaccination.â
Freep.com reports no cause of death has been listed on Clynickâs death certificate as the investigation is ongoing, with a funeral home director commenting it could be âweeks or monthsâ before a cause is known.
The boyâs funeral happened just three days after the CDC acknowledged a link between a high number of reports of myocarditis, or heart inflammation, in boys and young men vaccinated with either the Pfizer or Moderna Covid-19 vaccines.
On June 23, the CDC announced it had received over 1,200 reports of myocarditis or pericarditis, primarily in people aged 16 to 24 after their second dose.
The CDC is currently consulting the FDA, which gave emergency use authorization for Pfizer to administer their vaccine to children aged 12 to 15 in May, in a last-ditch effort to defend the experimental mRNA jab. Meanwhile, the FDA has noticeably held off on granting similar approval to Moderna for children aged 12 to 17.
